Last Friday I arrived home from Tula, Mexico. Twelve hours later Justin and I had a Kentucky Derby Party to help bring him back to his Louisville roots. Justin specialized in making ridiculously strong Mint Juleps...way too strong. Bourbon must not be my thing ...
If you know my family - you know that we have to gamble. In the picture below you will see some of us all holding up pieces of paper listing our horse names and numbers for the Derby race.
We had two pools and I had #1 Lookin at Lucky, #5 Line of David, #6 Stately Victor....and if you had a chance to watch -- I did not win. If we had had a contest in drinking the champagne.. I think I would have won first place. Below is a picture of my Dad being goofy and wearing Jean's glasses.
Overall the party was a success and we plan on continuing the tradition next year. Next year's addition will include large floppy hats.
